Originally the Vermilion School of Agriculture, Lakeland College Alberta was established in 1913 in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada. Moreover, its first admittance of female students came in the March of 1914. During World War I, the college shifted campuses. In addition, in the 1960s, due to the inflation in vocational schools, the college changed its name to Vermilion Agricultural and Vocational School. Finally, in 1975 Vermilion College became Lakeland College. Furthermore, Lakeland is the only interprovincial college in Canada.
