Originally the Ryerson Institute of Technology, Toronto Metropolitan University was established in 1948 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With 250 students in its first class, TMU educates over 40,000 students on its grounds. In addition, initially, the institute served as a vocational training and career development center. In the 1950s, the school started delivering three-year education programs. Moreover, in the late 1900s, TMU inaugurated academic buildings and new facilities.
