Initiated by Gustave Blanche, Université Sainte-Anne was established on 1 September 1890. In the early 21st century, the college merged with another institute to form a community college. Moreover, the university takes its name after the mother of the Virgin Mary, Saint Anne. Furthermore, it educates almost 600 students in Pointe-de-l'Église, Nova Scotia, Canada. In addition, the university is one of the only two French Language Universities in the Canadian Maritime Provinces.
