Originally the Regina College, the University of Regina was established in 1911 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Moreover, the college became part of the University of Saskatchewan in 1934. A few years ago, the college officially became a degree-granting junior college in 1925. In addition, the 1960s saw the college's education disrupted at the hands of the Great Depression. Finally, in 1971, the college transitioned into a university, becoming the Regina University. With only 27 students in its first class, the university educates over 16,000 students today.
