The Waterford Institute of Technology, also known as SETU or South East Technological University, came into being in 1970 as the Regional Technical College and took up its current name on 7th May 1997. SETU operates five campuses, and these Waterford locations include the Cork Road campus, the main campus; the College Street campus, five minutes away from the city center; the Carriganore campus near the Waterford Bypass in Waterford's Industrial Estate; and the Granary on the Merchant's Quay, close to the city center.
