Originally St. Jerome's College, St. Jerome's University was established in 1865 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Moving locations for the first time in 1867, the university made changes to its grounds in 1881, 1889, 1907, and 1958. Moreover, initially, the college only provided priesthood education and Catholic business schooling. The mid-1900s saw the university inaugurate new academic faculties and develop campus premises. In addition, in the late 1980s and 1990s, the university opened residences and renamed its academic buildings. Furthermore, in 1998, it officially took up the name St. Jerome's University.
