University of Law

The University of Law is the largest law school in the United Kingdom and came into existence in 1962 as The College of Law of England and Wales. It offers law degrees, specialized legal training, and continuing professional development courses for British barristers and lawyers. It began around 1876. The College of Law was initiated as a charitable by royal charter in 1975, but in 2012, before receiving official recognition, its educational and training division was divided and established as a private limited corporation. The University of Law Limited later evolved into The College of Law Limited. The degree-granting authority began by this college in 2006. It changed its name to The University of Law UK (ULaw) in 2012 after becoming the first for-profit educational establishment in the UK to receive the university status.
