Assistance in Case of Financial Difficulty (LMU Nothilfe)

Eligibility criteria

Students / doctoral students (not including students on preparatory courses, exchange students, program students) enrolled at the time of application for regular full-time study programs who: • are enrolled in a degree program at the LMU from the second consecutive semester (the standard period of study must not be exceeded); • have not completed their Abitur (higher education entrance qualification) and/ or a German academic degree (e.g., Bachelor degree, Master degree) in the Federal Republic of Germany or in a German school in a foreign country; • are not entitled to statutory or otherwise financial aid (e.g., BAföG); • are able to demonstrate financial need*; • have not received a total of 30 months of funding or three full-year scholarships (regardless of the organization providing the funding); • have their residence in Germany; • have not received this assistance yet;
