DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarships 2026 at Hochschule Bonn Rhein Sieg University

Eligibility criteria

To qualify, applicants must be citizens of developing or emerging countries and hold a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, law, psychology, international relations, or related disciplines. Candidates without a directly listed degree can still apply — provided their transcripts include at least 15 ECTS credits in subjects relevant to social protection. A minimum of five (05) months of relevant professional or volunteer experience is required, alongside English language proficiency at the C1 level (or proof that English was the medium of instruction at their university). The selection process is rigorous and holistic. Applicants are evaluated based on academic merit, quality of their research proposal, motivation letter, recommendation letter, and online interview performance. Only the most exceptional eight candidates will secure the scholarship.
