Eligibility criteria

Exceptional Academic Record: This is the most crucial requirement. Universities look for consistently high grades from your previous studies (e.g., outstanding high school results for Bachelor's, a very high undergraduate GPA for Master's, and strong research potential for PhDs). Standardized Test Scores: For many international programs, strong scores on tests like SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, or subject-specific entrance exams can be a significant factor. Admission: You must first gain formal admission to the specific degree program at the university. The scholarship decision often happens concurrently with or shortly after the admission decision. Application Quality: A compelling motivation letter, strong letters of recommendation, and impressive performance in any admission interviews are often vital in distinguishing top candidates. Citizenship: While open to many, these are most frequently (though not exclusively) targeted at non-EU/EEA international students, as EU/EEA students often benefit from lower or no tuition fees in public universities.
